Award-winning Indian journalist and senior editor of The Wire Arfa Khanum Sherwani has been the target of online harassment since her personal contact details were purportedly hacked, which led to a barrage of abusive and threatening messages.
Sherwani expressed her indignation on X, calling the constant barrage of calls and messages during the previous day “dangerous” and “intolerable.”
“I’ve been getting threatening calls and messages nonstop for the last 24 hours. This is harassment. This poses a risk. And we must not put up with this,” she wrote on X.
