A day after Moscow and Kyiv held their first direct discussions in over three years without a truce, the Kremlin said Saturday that a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would only be possible if both sides come to an agreement.
According to local authorities, a Russian drone attack on a minibus transporting evacuees in the eastern Sumy region the morning following the discussions killed nine people and injured five more.
“Russia only retains the opportunity to continue killing,” Zelensky posted on social media after the strike, adding that “yesterday, as on any day of this war, there was an opportunity to cease fire.”
