On Tuesday, protesters opposing the contentious six-canal project invaded and burned Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar’s home in the Naushahro Feroze district, destroying property and setting household objects on fire.
The demonstrators set fire to family items and vandalized the minister’s home, which is situated in Moro City next to the National Highway. Two trailers that were parked close were also set on fire.
One of the main points of dispute between the central administration led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Sindh government led by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was the Cholistan Canals issue.
