Despite being an Academy Award winner, Jodie Foster has always been afraid to act in French films.
Years later, though, the star of The Silence of the Lambs claimed that her performance in Vie Privée had helped her get over her reluctance.
“I had secondary parts [in French films] before, but I was actually afraid,” Jodie recalled, recalling why she felt “too scared” of performing in French even though she was competent in the language.
I received several project offers from directors, but I was too afraid to perform in French. I felt that someone who knew more French needed to do it. However, she said in Cannes, where her picture had its premiere, “I don’t really remember how things worked out this time around.”
