HANOI: According to several media outlets, French President Emmanuel Macron was slapped by his wife Brigitte when they arrived in Vietnam at the beginning of a visit to Southeast Asia.
Before her husband stepped off the presidential plane late on Sunday, Brigitte Macron was seen in the video pushing or slapping his face away. Before he recovered and waved to the cameras at the base of the aircraft’s stairs, the president was seen taking a step back.
After she briefly disappeared from view, the pair went down the stairs together.
