Washington: On Monday, US President Donald Trump announced his intention to transfer $3 billion in previously granted grant funds for engineering and scientific research from Harvard University to trade schools.
Less than a week has passed since Trump’s administration attempted to prevent the Ivy League university from accepting international students as part of an unprecedented attempt to regain some degree of government control over US higher education. He made these remarks on his social media platform, Truth Social.
In recent weeks, Republican President Donald Trump has frozen almost $3 billion in federal payments to Harvard, claiming that the university has employed Democrats, “radical left idiots, and ‘bird brain’s” as academics.
