The mayor of the city stated on Tuesday that four people were “very, very ill in hospital” when a car crashed into a group of Liverpool supporters during a Premier League title parade, but he hoped they would “pull through.”
British police have not explained how or why a guy was able to drive at revelers on the streets on Monday night, but they do believe the incident in crowded Liverpool’s city center on Monday was isolated and not an act of terrorism.
Online videos showed a grey people-carrier dragging at least four people under its wheels and sending many people flying into the air as it drove through a congested, car-free street.
