Pakistan’s seismic monitoring agencies reported that late Monday night, another mildly strong earthquake was detected in several areas of Karachi.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the earthquake, which had a Richter scale value of 2.4, occurred at around 11:16 p.m. The epicentre was located about 10 kilometers below the surface, close to Malir.
The shocks were felt in Quaidabad and Landhi Sherpao Colony, two areas of the megacity. No damage or injuries were reported at this time.
Residents are concerned as the tremor is the eleventh of its kind in the last 24 hours, and the PMD has issued a warning that light aftershocks could persist for the next two days.
