KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) Seismic Monitoring Centre reports that three further earthquake shocks with magnitudes ranging from 2 to 3.1 were felt in the port city Tuesday evening.
The port city saw earthquake activity for the fourth day in a row.
According to the seismological center, the most recent activity has increased the total number of earthquakes experienced in Karachi since June 1 to 26.
Given the alarming circumstances, Chief Meteorologist Amir Haider Laghari stated that the minor tremors might last for an additional week due to the ongoing tectonic plate movement.
Residents in Karachi’s Landhi, Quaidabad, Malir, and nearby neighborhoods are becoming concerned after experiencing recurrent moderate earthquakes since Sunday. No serious injuries or damage have been reported.
