Acting US Attorney Jay R. Combs said Friday that American-Pakistani Dr. Samad Khan has agreed to pay the US $3.5 million to settle False Claims Act claims in the Eastern District of Texas.
The Justice Department alleges that Samad, MD, has consented to pay the sum in order to settle claims that he intentionally submitted or caused the submission of false claims that were not performed, in violation of the False alleges Act.
The Uninsured Program compensated qualified clinicians for Covid-19 tests, testing-related goods and services, treatment, and vaccinations administered to uninsured persons between roughly May 2020 and April 2022.
