In an effort to fight organized begging, Dubai Police is stepping up their efforts and asking the public to report any suspicious conduct via the proper channels.
This comes after 41 Arab nationals who were living in the same hotel and were involved in a coordinated begging network were recently arrested.
The arrests were made during a targeted security operation called “Al-Misbah” (Arabic for “prayer bead”), which was conducted by the General Department of Criminal Investigation’s Department of Suspects and Criminal Phenomena, according to a news release from Dubai Police.
With more than AED 60,000 discovered in their possession, police verified that the hotel was a base for their illegal operations.
