According to aviation sources on Wednesday, Air India has lost more than INR 8.2 billion as a result of Pakistan’s ongoing prohibition on using its airspace.
After 40 days, the restriction is having a significant impact on operations. According to reports, the rerouting and higher operating expenses are costing Air India alone INR 200 million every day.
Aviation experts claim that Campbell Wilson, the CEO of Air India, has issued an official letter to the Indian government expressing worry over the current state of affairs and its financial ramifications.
“If the ban continues, it will become increasingly difficult to maintain operations,” Wilson stated.
