A stampede during Wednesday’s Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) victory parade claimed seven lives, including women and children, and injured numerous more.
The sad event happened as sizable crowds gathered to celebrate RCB’s first Indian Premier League (IPL) title victory, according to accounts from Indian media.
A stampede at the entrance to Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium injured around ten persons. To get a look at the RCB players, fans had congregated there.
It’s important to remember that the RCB, led by Virat Kohli, overcame the Punjab Kings to win their first IPL title since the competition’s launch in 2008.
