QUETTA: According to The News on Thursday, the recently approved Anti-Terrorism (Amendment) Act Balochistan 2025 permits any institution that detains someone to hold them for a maximum of three months before requiring them to appear in court and reveal the allegations.
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti stated that the missing persons issue would be settled through the legal system after the Balochistan Assembly approved the revised draft on Wednesday.
Kulsoom Niaz, a member of the opposition, left the Assembly after being refused a chance to speak. The Balochistan Assembly, chaired by Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, started its Wednesday session after a 30-minute delay.
