KARACHI: Special congregations are being conducted in Saddar, Pakistan Chowk, Haidery, and other locations throughout the city as part of the Bohra community’s celebration of Eid ul Adha on Friday (today).
The community’s largest meeting was held at Saddar’s Tahiri Mosque, which is close to Zahid Nihari.
All of the Bohra mosques in the city have special security measures in place, with sizable groups of Rangers and police officers positioned outside.
Eid ul Adha, which commemorates the conclusion of the Hajj trip to Makkah and the preparedness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son Ismail at Allah’s order, is celebrated by slaughtering sheep, goats, calves, and camels. The rite of animal sacrifice took place after the Eid prayers.
