Washington: According to The News on Friday, US President Donald Trump has praised Islamabad’s leadership and emphasized his role in defusing the recent armed crisis between Pakistan and India.
During a White House event with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Trump described how tensions between India and Pakistan were “getting close to being out of hand,” and he said he stepped in by calling to both sides’ leaders directly.
“The leader of India, a big guy, was here a few weeks ago and we had great talks — and Pakistan, likewise,” he continued, referring to the fact that both sides were “well represented” in the negotiations. President Trump went on to say: “Their leadership is very strong. I may offend some people by expressing that, but it is what it is.
