Washington: The US Department of State has stated that it hopes President Donald Trump will assist in resolving the long-standing Kashmir dispute during his time in office, suggesting that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts have paid off.
Inquiries concerning the recent meeting between Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker and a Pakistani legislative delegation headed by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), were sent by this correspondent to the State Department. In particular, questions were raised regarding whether the United States had promised Pakistan that it would use its good offices to bring India to the negotiating table in order to negotiate all unresolved concerns and maintain the ceasefire.
