At least 140 individuals were killed by Israeli gunfire and strikes in Gaza over the course of the last day, according to local health officials. Some Palestinians in the strip said that their predicament was being overlooked as focus switched to the air battle between Israel and Iran.
According to Gaza’s health ministry, Israeli gunfire and airstrikes on Wednesday were responsible for at least 40 of the deaths that occurred on the previous day. In the three weeks since Israel partially relaxed a complete embargo on the region, the deaths included the most recent in a nearly daily string of executions of Palestinians attempting to get help.
Separate airstrikes on residences in the Maghazi refugee camp were reported by medics.
