Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke over the phone Tuesday, discussing the changing Middle East scenario and emphasizing the necessity for diplomacy and communication to find a peaceful settlement.
As per the Prime Minister Office (PMO) release, PM Shehbaz conveyed Pakistan’s profound apprehension regarding the present regional events and “emphasised the urgent need to restore calm through diplomatic engagement.”
The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Iran during the discussion on all international fora, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
According to the PMO, he also emphasized the significance of respecting international law and the values included in the UN Charter.
