According to Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, she will ban Palestine Action under the anti-terror law.
Cooper described the event as “disgraceful” after the group’s supporters broke into RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire and spray-painted two military aircraft red.
If the measure is approved by Parliament, it would effectively label the group as a terrorist organization and make it unlawful to support or be a member.
“Unhinged” is how Palestine Action described the government’s action.
Cooper made his announcement during the group’s demonstration in central London, which drew hundreds of people and resulted in 13 arrests due to altercations with police.
Cooper stated that Palestine Action had a “long history” of causing criminal harm and that “its activity has increased in frequency and severity” since 2024, indicating her determination to ban the group.
