ISLAMABAD In just a few days since the monsoon season began, 45 people have died in Pakistan due to heavy rain and flash flooding, disaster management officials reported on Sunday.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province had the highest death toll, with 10 of the 21 fatalities being minors.
According to the disaster management authority, 14 of those fatalities occurred in the Swat Valley, where families were washed away by a flash flood, according to media reports.
Since Wednesday, 13 deaths have been reported in Punjab.
