LAHORE: In a joint letter to the party leadership, prominent PTI officials who are incarcerated have called for the initiation of political dialogue in order to put an end to the country’s continuous “instability.”
Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, and Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed signed the letter.
Imran Khan, the founder of the PTI, and other PTI leaders have been incarcerated for almost a year. Charges against several of them are mostly related to the May 9 protests, which saw attacks on state buildings, notably the Jinnah House.
The imprisoned leaders suggested in the letter, which is accessible to News, that communication should involve “powerful quarters” as well as political stakeholders.
