KARACHI: In nine of their eleven matches across a range of age groups, Pakistani junior squash players had a great first day at the 32nd Asian Junior Individual Championships on Tuesday.
In the Boys Under-19 division, Anas Ali Shah defeated Muhammad Razka Idhmi Sulaeman of Indonesia 11-3, 11-5, 11-6 to reach the pre-quarterfinals, while Abdullah Nawaz easily defeated Tharul Pinwatta of Sri Lanka 11-5, 11-4, 11-7.
First-seeded In the Boys Under-15 competition, Nauman Khan outperformed Aisoon Jadkham of Thailand 11-0, 11-0, 11-3. With victories of 11-4, 11-0, and 11-0 over Lonitha Bimsandu of Sri Lanka, his countryman Ahmad Rayyan Khalil also made an impression.
