The chiefs of all government hospitals in Punjab are not allowed to freely provide leave to physicians who want to travel overseas, according to the Punjab government.
All such demands would now need the chief minister’s prior approval, the Punjab Health Department announced in a notification.
According to the new rule, physicians working at government hospitals who plan to travel abroad must apply for leave at least one month in advance. The chief minister alone will have the last say on such applications.
