RAWALPINDI, LAHORE: At least 43 people have been killed in the past 24 hours due to heavy monsoon rainfall that has devastated several regions of Punjab. Additionally, Islamabad and Rawalpindi have seen urban flooding as a result of receiving over 240 millimeters of rainfall in 18 hours.
According to a representative for the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa), the managing director of the authority contacted the 111 Brigade of the Pakistan Army because it was determined to call in the army in case of an emergency.
As the water level rose by 22 feet, the Met Office ordered evacuations, and alarms were sounded in the vicinity of Nullah Leh as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted additional rain.
