The National Highway Authority (NHA) has been instructed by Federal Communications Minister Abdul Aleem Khan to expedite the construction of five significant highway projects, including the Naran-Kaghan route, M-6, and M-10.
The minister presided over a high-level meeting to assess the status of significant infrastructure projects nationwide, where the decision was made.
In order to build new highways, the NHA plans to spend Rs150 billion of its resources this fiscal year, according to an official statement. A sizeable amount, Rs100 billion, has been set aside expressly for the Balochistani Karachi-Quetta-Chaman (N-25) project, which is anticipated to get underway soon.
In order to guarantee long-term efficiency and capacity, Abdul Aleem Khan underlined that future motorway projects will only be constructed with a minimum of six lanes.
