After a protracted illness, Mian Muhammad Azhar, a former governor of Punjab and member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) National Assembly, passed away in Lahore on Tuesday.
He had been gravely ill for months and was the father of PTI politician Hammad Azhar.
Throughout his lengthy political career, Mian Azhar occupied significant positions.
He became the federal minister of commerce after serving as the governor of Punjab during the first term of Nawaz Sharif as prime minister in the early 1990s.
