In a historic meeting intended to improve bilateral ties in a number of areas, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met in Washington on Friday.
After previous phone conversations, this is the first time the two leaders have met in person.
Senior American officials welcomed Ishaq Dar to the US State Department, where the high-level talks took place. Senior members of the Pakistani foreign ministry and Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, the country’s ambassador to the US, accompanied him. Senior officials from both sides participated in delegation-level discussions.
