According to the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), there is no truth to the media rumors that Islamabad International Airport will be closed for eight days.
In order to ensure air traffic safety, officials announced that flights would be temporarily halted on certain days so that Pakistan Air Force fighter (PAF) jets could practice for the Independence Day flypast.
The officials also stated that each suspension will last roughly two hours.
The schedule is laid forth in a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) published by the Pakistan Airports Authority.
On August 6–9 and August 11–14, civilian arrivals and departures will be halted between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
A second opportunity is available from August 11–13 from 8:00–10:30 p.m.
