Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced on Sunday that a top official from the UN nuclear watchdog will travel to Iran for discussions on Monday, but that no visit to nuclear installations is scheduled.
Rafael Grossi, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has stated that inspections are still his top priority, but inspectors have been denied access to Iran’s facilities since Israel conducted its first military strikes on its nuclear sites during a 12-day battle in June.
The 35-nation Board of Governors of the IAEA declared Iran in violation of its non-proliferation commitments after the agency released a devastating report on May 31 that Iran claims essentially paved the way for the attacks.
