As it gets ready to celebrate Princess Anne’s 75th birthday on August 15, Buckingham Palace has revealed a number of firsts for her.
The royal family on Wednesday featured significant events in Anne’s life together with pictures from different phases of her public service in an Instagram post called The Princess Royal Edition.
Born Princess Anne Elizabeth Alice on VJ Day, August 15, 1950, at Clarence House, she became a member of the inaugural Buckingham Palace Company of Brownies and Guides in 1959, following in the footsteps of her mother, Princess Elizabeth at the time.
The royal family claims that Anne, who rode with the British equestrian team at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, was the first British royal to participate in an Olympic competition.
