The first official visit to Dhaka by a Pakistani foreign minister in 13 years began on Saturday when Ishaq Dar, the deputy prime minister and foreign minister, touched down in Bangladesh.
“The visit is a significant milestone in Pakistan-Bangladesh relations as a Pakistani Foreign Minister is visiting Bangladesh after a gap of around 13 years,” the Foreign Office stated in a statement.
During his visit to Dhaka, DPM Dar will have crucial meetings with Bangladeshi leaders.
The Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh invited FM Dar to visit, and during his tour from August 23 to 24, the Pakistani dignitary will meet with Touhid Hossain, the adviser for foreign affairs, and Professor Muhammad Yunus, the country’s chief adviser.
