Parts of Pakistan have seen heavy rainfall, causing homes to be destroyed, streets to flood, and at least seven fatalities in Dera Ismail Khan.
Hours of rain caused flash floods in drains and streams in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Water was seeping into homes and businesses in the Bhara Kahu region, leaving cars stuck.
As the water level climbed, authorities also opened Rawal Dam’s spillways to relieve pressure.
For the sake of public safety, a number of the Margalla Hills’ hiking trails were closed. For safety reasons, several hiking paths in the Margalla Hills were blocked, including paths 2, 3, 4, 5, and the one beyond Saidpur hamlet.
