Prior to President Yoon Suk Yeol’s official visit to the UK in November of last year, there was a breach.
According to the president’s office, the employee was compromised after using a personal email account for work-related correspondence.
According to a high-ranking government source quoted in a local media, hackers got access to Mr. Yoon’s itinerary.
The president’s messages had also been pilfered, the Kukmin Ilbo daily continued.
However, the President’s administration refused to say what data was taken.
It’s believed that this is the first time the North has taken down a member of the South Korean president’s staff with success.

The President’s office emphasized in a statement that there had been no hacking of its security system.
