Franke, a Utah mother of six who had gained popularity for her parenting advice on the “8 Passengers” video blog, has guilty to four charges of severe child abuse.
Ruby Franke, a Utah mother of six who formerly maintained the well-liked video blog “8 Passengers” offering parenting advice, persuaded her two youngest children that they were evil, possessed, and in need of punishment in order to turn from their sins.
The 42-year-old entered a guilty plea to four charges of severe child abuse alongside her business partner, mental health counselor Jodi Hildebrandt.
Franke acknowledged in her plea agreement to having kicked her kid while wearing boots, submerged his head, and covered his mouth and nose with her hands.
Hildebrandt and she acknowledged that they also made the youngster perform hours of heavy labor in it.
Emergency call records show that in August, Franke’s 12-year-old son requested a neighbor to contact the police after he broke out of Hildebrandt’s house in the southern Utah city of Ivins through a window.
