The investigation’s reason has not been made public, but last week the Guardian revealed that Mr. Gove failed to disclose the VIP treatment he received at a football game with a Tory donor, whose company he had suggested for contracts involving millions of pounds worth of personal protective equipment (PPE) during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the tabloid, the leveling up secretary had fun at a 2021 Queens Park Rangers game with David Meller, whose business Meller Designs was given six PPE contracts totaling £164 million as a result of Mr. Gove’s reference.
