On Tuesday, OpenAI, the software startup behind the popular chatbot ChatGPT, denied Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s assertions that the firm “betrayed” its initial mission, promising to work toward having the charges dropped in court.
Musk, the owner of SpaceX and X, formerly known as Twitter, has initiated a legal challenge against OpenAI, claiming that the firm was always intended to be a nonprofit, according to records filed in San Francisco court.
“We intend to move to dismiss all of Elon’s claims,” OpenAI’s executives stated in a blog post.
Musk, who co-founded the tech startup with CEO Sam Altman in 2015, resigned in 2018 and has since become an outspoken critic of the company.
