When two protestors interrupted the president during a speech on healthcare on Tuesday and yelled, “What about the healthcare in Gaza?” they were asked to leave the event in Raleigh, North Carolina.
“Everybody deserves healthcare,” Mr. Biden declared amid cries from the demonstrators accusing him of being “complicit in genocide” and stating that hospitals in Gaza were being destroyed.
“Be patient with them,” the president urged the crowd.
He declared, “They have a point,” once the demonstrators were led away.
“We need to get a lot more care into Gaza.”
The president was then greeted with applause and a standing ovation from the crowd.
Mr. Biden has seen multiple anti-war demonstrations since Israel began its military campaign following the October 7th incident.
The most recent demonstration coincides with a tense US-Israeli relationship as Vice President Joe Biden puts further political pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to permit more supplies into Gaza.
