The trial, which was held in Manhattan, New York, began with the jury selection and the consideration of motion arguments from the prosecution and defense.
However, the jurors never got to sit down since they had to answer 42 questions on their news habits, interests, and abilities to travel.
There are 200 jurors in all who could be chosen. After stating to the judge that they were unable to be impartial and fair, more than half of the first group was excused on Monday.
A rejected applicant was heard remarking, “I just couldn’t do it,” in a hallway, according to News, a US partner of News.
News added that due to the enormous number of potential jurors, choosing 12 jurors and 6 alternates could take up to two weeks.
