For the first time in seventy-five years, the United Arab Emirates experienced unprecedented quantities of rainfall, to the point where Dubai was submerged under water.
The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology issued a red alert following the unusual meteorological occurrence, advising locals to stay watchful as the weather proceeded to more severe.
Although it hasn’t rained in any of the UAE’s states for the past eight hours, the administration has issued advisories telling citizens to stay inside.
During a meeting with the crisis and disaster management team, the leadership of Dubai issued an order for quick action to be taken in the city due to the rain emergency.
According to media accounts, Dubai had two years’ worth of record rainfall in a single day.
In the Gulf nation, sanitation workers are occupied with removing rainwater off the roads.
There are initiatives in place to clear the water that has accumulated on the roads in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and other states.
There have been reports of an Emirati national being carried away by floodwaters near Ras Al Khaima.
