The tweet, which was published on Tuesday, April 16, explained that the Spider-Man actor and Binance had partnered to introduce a cryptocurrency with a Spider-Verse theme.

A link to the “spiderverse.app” was included in the tweet to encourage users to register and receive early access, with the message “$SPIDER coin and Spiderverse NFTs.”
Many thought the post was fraudulent because Tom had not previously pushed cryptocurrency, as seen by the observations.
According to Mashable, more hints came from the Binance company, which made no mention of a collaboration with the celebrity.
However, the dubious tweet was quickly taken down, but a link to the purported scam was put to Tom’s X account’s bio, which has since been taken down.
