Only a few days after Shakira attended her first Met Gala, Spanish prosecutors suggested she have her second investigation into her money dismissed.
The singer of “Hips Don’t Lie” was allegedly underpaid in taxes for 2018 totaling 6.7 million euros ($7.2 million). The Spanish government accused Shakira of using an offshore company to evade paying the debt.
The initial accusers, state prosecutors, are now stating that “there is not sufficient evidence” of a potential fiscal violation.
The investigating judge will, however, determine whether or not to put the investigation on hold.
Shakriya is accused of tax evasion for the second time and owes the Spanish government $7.1 million in taxes.
