The recent discussions between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on commerce and diplomacy have been referred to as “great progress” by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The premier stated, “We have identified areas of mutual cooperation, both at the level of government-to-government and business-to-business, and that has been clearly identified,” in an interview with the Arab news station Al Arabiya English. We now have an obvious path ahead of us.”
The prime minister emphasized that among other things, both nations will work on mutual cooperation, investments in the mining and mineral industries, and renewable energy.
Days before, the PM had promised the Saudi investment that his government would fully back it, allowing the investors and businesses to quickly complete their future projects in Pakistan through joint ventures and quickly reproduce them.
Speaking at a dinner event held in honor of a Saudi delegation, Prime Minister Shehbaz reaffirmed that the government’s role was to provide frameworks for policy, serve as a catalyst, and eliminate any obstacles in the way of the swift accomplishment of economic goals.
Speaking about Pakistan’s “historic” relations with Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that the two countries have been brothers for “centuries” and that they continue to be partners in the development and prosperity of the region.
