During his commencement speech at Duke University on Sunday, comedian Jerry Seinfeld made fun of Harvard University, following the departure of a number of anti-Israel students from the event upon his introduction.
“At this point, I’m not discussing Harvard. I’m referring to how things used to be. You’ll never believe this, but Harvard was once a fantastic university. Now it’s Duke,” he remarked, adding that many of the Harvard grads who worked for him in the 1990s felt ashamed of their attendance at the Ivy League university.
After Seinfeld, an outspoken advocate of Israel, was presented, some students chanted “free Palestine” as they were exiting the event. In order to protest the institutions’ policies, anti-Israel students have established camps at universities around the United States, including Harvard University.
