Based on a true story, Richard Gadd’s series, in which he plays wannabe comic and bartender Donny Dunn, created a stir online when it was discovered that several of the characters—including an actress Jessica Gunning’s portrayal of a stalker—were real people.
Gadd urged fans to give up their hunts in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, stating, “I would have made it a documentary if I wanted the real-life people to be found.”
Gadd said that he feared speculating would increase if he made any further remarks regarding identities.
I’ve said in public that I don’t want other people to do it, and that if I start playing whack-a-mole, I’m practically contributing to it,” he continued.
