Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani blasted K-Electric (KE) on Tuesday for unexpected load shedding under the oppressive heat, stating that a formal complaint should be made against the power company in the event that a person in Karachi passes away from heatstroke.
Ghani remarked that the province government has no authority over the single electricity distribution firm during a session of the Sindh Assembly.
The public should file a formal complaint against the KE “if someone dies of unannounced loadshedding,” he encouraged them.
When there is a power outage, the minister encouraged the public to enter the KE offices and turn down their lights. But he urged everyone to refrain from using violence and causing property damage.
“Make them sit without electricity amid the heat wave condition so that they could realise the public woes,” he said.
