The National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) will captivate theatergoers with Saadat Hasan Manto’s timeless dramas starting on June 1.
Director Rao Jamal Singh Rajput unveiled the itinerary for Manto’s well-known pieces “Akeli” and “Sarhadi,” which will enthrall audiences at the Zia Mohyeddin Theatre from June 1 to June 8, during a press conference at NAPA.
Unlike his short stories, these theatrical adaptations of Manto’s literary classics are a first for Pakistan and provide an immersive experience.
Rao Jamal Rajput emphasized the painstaking planning that took six months to complete and ensured accuracy in every way, including period-appropriate clothes and screenplay fidelity.
The distinguished cast of the shows, which included Wahab Shah, Usman Javaid, Zulfiqar Ghouri, Reham Rafique, and Hiba Ali Khan, offered insights into their roles and assured attendees of an amazing theatrical experience.
