The 29-year-old American announced a new album and revealed the personal news in a social media post.
Though Halsey, whose true name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, tagged the Leukemia & Lymphona Society and the Lupus Research Alliance in the post, she did not reveal the diagnosis.
She referred to herself as “like an old lady” on Instagram.
“I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick,” she stated.
And thirty… I’m having a rebirth, I won’t get sick, I’ll look amazing, I’ll be full of vitality, and I get to relive my twenties in my thirties.”
She captioned the video with, “Long story short, I’m lucky to be alive.” In a nutshell, I composed an album.”
She was seen on camera rubbing her legs while speaking, and there looked to be medication on a coffee table in front of her.
In the post, she also included pictures and videos of herself getting treatment for her ailments, occasionally shedding tears.
