Last month, Anna Beaumont was discovered unconscious at the Orlando resort Discovery Cove.
She was called “a beautiful soul” by her relatives, who said she will “never be forgotten”.
Anna’s father heard the lifeguard’s whistle just after 10.30 am on May 28 when she was at the resort, according to testimony given to the Pontypridd Coroner’s Court.
The hearing was heard that when Anna’s father saw that lifeguards were trying to revive his daughter, he hurried to the site.
She was brought to Florida’s Arnold Palmer Hospital, where the next day she passed away.
Following a post-mortem investigation at the hospital, the court heard that the cause of death was listed as epilepsy-related seizure disorder and drowning.
When the investigations were finished, Patricia Morgan, the South Wales Central area coroner, stated that a date would be scheduled for a formal inquest.
However, the coroner warned that this would take some time because the office will want information from the Florida authorities.
“I wish to take this opportunity to express my condolences to Anna’s family at this sad time,” stated the coroner.
