According to the “2024 Mercer Cost of Living Survey,” out of 226 locations worldwide, the city is ranked as having the third-lowest cost of living (224). On the other hand, for those making foreign currency, it is inexpensive.
The poll evaluated the relative costs of over 200 things, including entertainment, food, clothing, household goods, and transportation, in cities across the globe.
According to the survey, Lagos and Buja in Nigeria are the cities with the lowest cost of living, coming in at positions 225 and 226 on the list, respectively.
Moreover, Karachi, the financial center of Pakistan, has been included in the list and is placed 222, making it one of the world’s and the region’s least costly cities.
According to the report, currency depreciations have contributed to the “demonstrably lower costs of living of international assignees.”
On the other hand, Hong Kong is listed as the city with the highest cost of living.
